Tunisia, following the traces.
From ancient stone to earthen villages, a photographic notebook of heritage, landscapes and inhabited places.
A journey in photographs
Reading landscapes, noticing details
A column, a courtyard, a passage: discovery often starts with a detail. These photographs bring together ancient remains, urban spaces and the architecture of the south. They invite us to notice the relationship between a monument and its setting rather than simply collect stops along a route.
Stone meets the contours of the landscape, while arcades and courtyards suggest different ways of inhabiting space. The amphitheatre of El Jem appears in more than one light: architecture to contemplate, but also a place brought to life by a performance. The notebook makes room for these changes in scale and atmosphere.
